Hi,

Wondered if anyone has personal experience of using Schwalbe Delta Cruiser tyres (700c)? Just had to get new tyres for both bikes aargh, budget is a major consideration, so ordered these

Just wanted to make sure they're not utterly useless!!

Also, I've ordered a pair of Schwalbe Blizzards for the other bike, as they're what's on there at the moment - but I'm not sure what the difference is between the ones I have (2 red stripes go all the way along the tyre) and the ones on offer (again!) Anyone got any idea? Will the Sport version of the tyre do the trick for normal cycling?

Apologies for the long-winded post, just thought I'd ask people who'd know more than me; the low cost is great, but want to make sure they're not totally useless or unsuited for purpose. Most of my riding is along country lanes and cycle tracks, odd potholes/tree roots etc but generally not too crazy. If either of these are totally useless, can anybody please suggest alternatives (under £20 a pair)? I'm aware cheaper ones won't last as long, but at the moment it's my only option.

Thanks for reading!

I've got some Schwalbe Blizzard Sport folding tyres on my winter bike. They feel fine in the corners and arent exactly slow - lots of confidence in them now. Never in circa 1500 miles had a p...............no i wont say it!! :)

Great, thanks for that! The Blizzards are for a bike that's used less often anyway, but good to know they seem OK. The description didn't seem to mention that they're folding tyres...do you happen to know if they do folding and non-folding varieties, or maybe the description just hasn't mentioned it. Guessing there's not much difference.

Just hope the Delta Cruisers are OK as well then, will be impressed if both sets of tyres turn out to be reasonable for the VERY reasonable price paid!

Yes there are both wired and folding versions. Looking at the link, i'd bet those are the wired version (rrp £14.99 vs rrp £23.99 for the folding version). A little extra weight but not much - at £6.50 per tyre then looks a bargain.

Vittoria Rubino's are good, cheap and relatively fast for the everyday rider.

I've had two sets now and they last for thousands of miles are great to corner and good in the wet. I've had 1 puncture in the last thousand miles from a fragment of glass that slowly pushed itself through the casing.

They are around £12 each and come in various colours.
