I like the look of one of these but it doesn't appear that anyone is selling them in the UK so I'll have to order direct from them if I want one. Is that correct or does anyone know otherwise? Has anyone experience of buying a bike from a manufacturer overseas?

Battaglin has a direct sales model these days - they are a reputable brand that's been around for a few years and I'd have no problem buying direct. I've bought plenty of stuff overseas, including a number of frames direct from China - it's a global market place these days and take advantage! The great thing about Battaglins is you'll rarely see another - except if you go into my garage!

Thanks for your input. I must admit the exclusivity of them adds to the appeal...vanity is a terrible thing! Even without that I am really taken by the appearance of it and it seems good value at that price. Time to mull it over.

I missed out on one on ebay when getting into road riding and ended up with my common as much Allez

It was a beauty too and had hardly been used.

    Good luck with the search.

Well, after some serious contemplation I have now ordered a C12 Athena direct from them. 3 weeks of anticipation lies ahead!

    Damn,

I remember Giovanni Battaglin winning the Giro d'Italia in 1981... I can't believe I'm that old!

PS: he was riding a Pinarello...
