When do you normally remove your lights or do you keep em on all year round?
i took my rear mudguard off this morning as it gets on my "thripny bits" the way it rattles

Leave them on all year - but then as a whore of the system I'm often in this godforsaken hell-hole until darkness falls even around midsummer.0

They'll stay on at least until sunset coincides with my end point, but the lights are removeable anyway, it's just whether I want to keep the mounts on.0

Not for a while at least but mudguards... hmmm.Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

I'll ditch the lights as soon as the clocks change. May well lose the guards too and use the "strap-on" if things are looking wetROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

I ride two l ights on the front and two on the back.
One set comes off between mid-May to late August. Mounts stay on.
The other set stays on for emergencies as I often get caught late at work.

Have a small led red rear that sites on the main road bike and never comes off pretty handy last summer about 10 miles from home and the heavens opened up. In the winter and right now tend to leave the bigger rear light on though is an exposure so still small and lightweight and depends on how long I'm out for as have a small emergency LED front light in case of foggy mornings and not used for me to see my way just to remind other road users.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0 -
My LD1100 is bolted to the rack so it stays on whatever is happening, and I carry the Vision 1 in the pannier for emergencies all year 'roundChunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

i leave the lights on all year round, so if its dark when im riding im fine, but also if its looking gloomy / raining it helps...
and since its still pretty light, i think im gonna add a lap of richmond park in on the way home today0 -
mounts stay on all year. Even mid summer if its stormy I'll put on the lights...one more reason not to have not seen me in your mum truck! Otherwise lights stay in the bag until needed.0

Hope 3 all year around, low sun is a biatch for drivers.0

I had to re-tape my bars over the weekend after a spill and didn't replace the lamp mount. I do have a Volvo-style always on dynamo light as well though.
It's this low sun that's getting to me at the moment. I bought an X/XL size cycling cap but even so it's too small for my big head! I've given it to my mother-in-law (who is 'good with the needle') to put some elastic in the back.0 -

Have another 'Volvo' style set-up on my hybrid and reel-lights on the tourer. They work particularly well in periods of deep shadow, let alone gloomy weather. Why would you want to take mudguards off?The older I get the faster I was0
-
I had to use mine tonight :?
I am looking forward to taking the front ones off but will probable leave the rear one attached.0 -
I leave the lights and guards on year around, while I don't use them as much as summer comes I do still travel late night be that pub or work.
And it's still wet in summer just warmer!0 -
