Hi all. Was thinking of getting a TT bike. I'm only 5' 2". Just wondered if any other small blokes have a TT bike and what size & make? Was thinking of a XS Trek speed concept. Normal road bike I use is 50 Trek which fits me fine. Thanks

Does that use 700c or 650c wheel.

Bike fit is going to be critical and TTs bikes are set-up 'shorter' than a road bike- you're probably looking at a 50cm toptube or shorter and that leads to all sorts of problems in terms of short-enough reach for a decent aero position whilst preventing front wheel overlap and making sure your knees don't hit the handlebars out of the saddle. One solution is a 650c front or even both. Maybe worthwhile getting a bike fit done to help you in terms of frame and bar selection.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like an off the peg Frame?bike going to be difficult. Though I'm sure someone will correct me on that. Don't mind 650 wheels. If I have to go custom built any recommendations? and are we talking big money as carbon would be preferable though not essential . Thanks

Planet-X do a XS TT frame with 650c wheels and you can find them used for reasonable money - there's so many about their re-sale value is poor. Likewise, used aero 650c wheels can be found for fair money too.

Thought this looked like a great deal. X Small Planet X Exocet with SRAM Red, deep rim carbon wheels etc...
The sizing guide doesn't actually mention X Small, but the Small fits 5' 4" to 5' 9" so you're in with a shot.

That's a fine looking bike :D .650 wheels? (not that bothers me!) There's a bike shop near my parents that do Orbea & Trek.http://www.velocitybikes.co.uk/index.asp?upid=34&msid=3 They also do bike fits so next time I'm there I/ll nip in as in no rush saving up the bike fund :D
