No summit finish for JTL, possible showing in a breakaway but doubtful.

Tomorrow's stage should hopefully cause some carnage. Been used several times in various forms and always the peloton is split up and many gaps.

Brian Smith says Stomach Bug has struck in Bartali, so i'll put JTL's time loss down to that..

Watched it on tv last night and Rai's Andrea di Luca interviewed JTL.
JTL said he had almost peak form and was expecting to challenge for the GC.
So it does seem like he's had some form of problem.

He also said he expected a group sprint of half peloton size: it was even bigger.

A final, 90 degree bend, very close to the finish.
Ulissi got into it on the outside, much quicker than the rest, so he got out much quicker and won with ease.

    Ah, there we go.

Terrible shame JTL won't take start today. I see Vuelta Castilla Leon is April 15th so not long to wait

Yep, shame its been cut from 5 days to 3 days, but at least its still going ahead! The route for Route du Sud hasn't been announced yet, but last years had a proper summit finish! Not till June but excited about this one also...
