Hi, I'm a beginner looking to venture into xc riding and trails and general mountain biking. I'll also be using the bike to cycle to work.

Please advise which would be the better bike for me.

Specialized Rockhopper Expert 2012 or...

Orange Pure 7 2012...

Any advise much appreciated.

For the price of those though, you can get much better spec:

The Canyon is one of the best at that price range, although do you really want to spend £1000 on an entry bike? It's up to you obviously though.

Thanks very much for the reply. I am very limited with what bike to purchase as it's a company run scheme.

Is it necessary to buy a full susp bike?
