Hi, been looking for ~120mm forks for my Trek Fuel EX (price ~ £300).
For this price, I am limited on the first hand forks I can buy, but ive found a couple that look ok:

Do these 2009 forks have basic internals? Would I be better off buying second hand forks?
I have also looked at the newer 150mm rev's but as I said beofre I want ~120mm, so could I put spacers in these to reduce the travel?

Another important note is the QR and thru-bolt. I currently have QR, is the thru-bolt worth it for a fork like this and its capabilities?
Any thoughts much appreciated!

The first set are a fantastic fork for the money, they can be spaced down, if you currently have a qr, is your front wheel capable of swapping axle types? If not its a new hub/wheel for a thru-bolt.0

What about a set of rebas?

Cannot recommend these ones enough: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=68493
So smooth, plus they're quick release but using some fancy DT swiss engineering meaning they apparently have the stiffness of a 15mm...Very funny Scotty, now beam me down my clothes.0 -
Would 120mm Maxle (15mm) Reba's be good on rough stuff... i.e. going down Snowdon and trail centres etc Just that when i think of reba's especially the 100mm version i think XCGiant XTC SE 2006

I would recommend the Revelation RLTs on Merlin. Slightly over budget, but I am certain that you'll be glad you splashed the extra £30 if you can afford it. They should be able to space down to 130, but I would check with Merlin first.A Flock of Birds

I put (2011) 120mm Reba's on my '06 'hopper last season and I'm loving them. The difference over the '06 Marzocchi's MX is night & day. Takes a while to properly get them dialled but lovin em. The amount of dodgy lines I take and badly timed/landed jumps etc I do - they soak that $hit up.
