require nice light ones but strong and ones that won't scratch my nice new club branded bottles :) Not too pricy, just for my main training bike, what you all got and any recommends, looking at these :-

I got a couple of these a year or so ago.

To be honest the ones you have spotted look a bit better (to me anyway) and probably end up cheaper too, so I'm out!

    I like these:

    http://www.enigmabikes.com/assets/image ... e_cage.jpg

They grip surprisingly well (much better than some other ones I have used that look superficially very similar) and are just a joy to use as the bottle goes in and out so easily. Just jam it in the general direction of the cage and it's there.

Theses are made by Token (or whoever makes them for Token).

I know these say Mountain Bike in the title, and even more amusingly 'gripper' ...but they're good and light, hold the bottles well, no logos to worry about clashing with the bike, and they're cheap like the budgie. £23.49 for a pair.

I've never understood the carbon bottle cage thing. A quick look at the pro's bikes when the TOB visited Kendal revealed that nearly all of them used Elite Custom cages which are of plastic/composite construction. I'm all for bling on bikes but I just don't get it with bottle cages!

Personally, I think they look pretty cool. I got mine off some chinese website for £15 a pair. I'd be wary of doing that for, say, carbon bars or seatpost or something but cages aren't really vital to the structural integrity of my bike or indeed the structural integrity of my teeth and other delicate body parts. So why not? Cheap bit of carbon bling without the worry of 'em snapping. Probably cheaper than the plastic/composite ones the pros use too.

Oh, and these are the ones I got:

    http://www.linkdelight.com/DB905-2x-Car ... arbon+cage

Appear to be the same as the outland ones (and various others) but a fair bit cheaper. Had to wait a couple of weeks for delivery but wasn't in much of a rush. They work fine and have been since middle of last year when I got 'em, once had a bottle pop out after going through a HUGE pothole to avoid a bus that pulled out on me.

carbon ones can be useful for example on small frames/compact ones where there is less gap to get your bottle in and out on the seat tube, carbon ones can easily bend to force the bottle in and out moreso.

The pros more often need to add weight to their bikes than lose weight, as they are all running top-end frames with carbon tubular wheels weighing 1200g and they need to get up to the UCI weight limit.. The plastic cages are quite a bit heavier.

    Carbon everything just now.

What's wrong with these for a fiver and a free bottle too.

I buy all mine from Aliexpress/Wish.com.

I bought a sweet pair of matt UD carbon cages on wish.com for €22 and they just so happen to be identical to Enve cages but at an 8th of the price.

Carbonworks if money is no object.. Looking at them you would think that they couldn't possibly work properly but they grip extremely well. Expensive, but if you are going to buy expensive carbon cages you may as well get ones that have been properly designed by people who know carbon and maximise the weight saving benefits.

I purchased a couple of Lifeline carbon cages from Wiggle. Black, completely unbranded, holds my bottles perfectly, weighing in at 20g each and only £14:99.

    nah.

    lifeline. £15.
i've got Massi (£30 each), Planet x as above, Amazon Chinese specials and they all work as well as each other, which is perfectly well.

just choose ones in ypur budget that you like the look of.
