Madrid - got any good routes ?

I'm moving to Madrid in April & would like to find some good cycling routes from North Madrid. I have a few challenges :
1>Most exits from the city appear to be along M roads so maybe not bike friendly
2>I cant find a decent map (apart from michelin map 575)
3>The mountains to the north west look interesting but are they too far away for a loop ?

I plan to explore by car when I arrive but any pointers would be appreciated ! Thanks

I was in north Madrid last July for work and the mountains to the north west look beautiful for cycling. I did see a lot of cyclists heading that way so I'd imagine it's manageable but it really depends the heat/humidity and how you acclimatise to it.

I had a quick look on garmin connect and there are a few decent looking rides. It depends exactly where you'll be based for how easy it is to exit on quieter roads, may just be a case of having an explore really.
