Apologies for an attack of pride but it's been a good few days:

Friday, my 14 year old son went back to school for his first lesson since October 2010 when he was diagnosed with a tumour in his pelvis. Huge huge milestone.

Today, we've heard that my 12 year old son is carrying the Olympic torch in the Inverness relay leg.

Congrats, you must be beyond proud. That special feeling that you can't describe without tears I guess.

Top stuff on both counts. Is one act related to the other?

I met an old dear of 80 recently who's been selected to carry the flame. She didn't half have some sparkle about her when she was telling me. :)

I'm not sure. The school nominated Hughie and I've not seen the nomination. He's organised some cancer fundraising and done a great job at it and that might have played part of it. His two closest friends had parents diagnosed with cancer the same week as Hughie's brother was diagnosed - he's coped with it all brilliantly.

  • Thanks for sharing MRS.

You must be, in the words of President Obama, "chuffed to bits".

You will probably have seen the Olympic tourch relay map, so you can start letting friends know where they can spectate from.
