Garmin edge mount forward of the bars

I saw a few months ago a new garmin mount that is similar to the power joule in that it mounts and then hangs forward of the stem.

anyone know who makes it?

or where i can get one?

You could just use one of these or similar, cut it down and you will have two or there is a single one.

I've just bought a http://www.aspirevelotech.com/Merchant2 ... e=PCHBM-01 for my 705 as the mount won't fit my new PRO 'Cav' stem.

I think the solution for the 200/500/800 twist mount is neater though.

Just for the record, my mount from Aspire Velotech arrived last week. A week from the US to Swizterland. It's a well made product (even the bolts are pre-greased), looks good and does the job it's supposed to. What's not to like? Unless you have a 500/800 because the 500/800 specific mount looks neater!

I Have an FSA mount very similar to the one on Aspire but only one half of it (if you know what I mean). I treid putting the Edge 500 mount on it using the bands and it just doesnt quite sit right and the bands have a tendancy to work loose, especially when it is wet. The one on above catergory looks spot on and far neater. Will be trying to get one of those once their available.

No disrespect to the guy on the TT forum but the Above Category mount has gone through a lot of R&D and if the newer TT design is anything to go buy it looks very flimsy compared to the solid looking Bar Fly. I don’t want to lose a Garmin and I don’t want it vibrating so much it’s unreadable (a problem that FSA’s mount suffers from).

NB - I bought one of those clamp and bar mounts from SJS Cycles and sent it right back.

Just because something has had a lot of R and D doesn't always make it a better product

I'm prepared to take the risk with the uk one and get my hands on it earlier.

It's already being customised so it accommodates my Pro cavenish stem and the Garmin is more central

To me it looks like that mount has the Garmin sitting too high. I use a carbon bar extender from Acor that cost about a tenner from an eBay seller in Taiwan (arrived in about a week) and allows me to position my Edge 500 in a similar position to the SRM computer. Not sure you could do the same with an Edge 800 though as the extender bit would be a bit short, but for the Edge 500 it's perfect.

Thanks Squibnocket, but cant see how this would fit onto a front mounted 4 bolt stem! My bolts on Ritchey WCS stem are all recessed.

I've got a KCNC stem on my bike, I've had a look at your stem from a web pic and it looks pretty similar to mine. Undo either the top 2 or bottom 2 bolts on your stem, place the mount between the front plate and the stem, re fasten the bolts. I'll take a picture tomorrow and email to you pm me your email adress if your interested.
