Currently just bought this frame and having problems fitting the front mech >>> http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBC ... nuItemId=0. If you enlarge the picture and zoom in onto the mech its not clamping round the frame. I have the adapter ( black piece of metal in which mech is bolted on to from Specialized ) and bought this mech http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=20684 ( the same mech as description on website ) Just wondering how this works? As surely it needs to be clamped onto something. Help appreciated :)

    It just bolts on.

Pics of what you actually have.

The frame should have some threads into small bulges near the bottom bracket shell that look similar to ISCG chain guide mounts, but higher up. With an assortment of spacers (usually included in the mech if you get the Direct mount DMD type) it bolts direct to the frame at the correct angle, and means that the frame tubing above the BB shell doesnt have to be round (or even have one at all!).

The mech should be direct mount, the one you bought isn't. It won't fit.

An E type mech with the bracket removed is a DMD mech
