does anyone know of any tt's that are happening in france which could be done in a day trip or over a weekend is there a ctc or french version on that? any details would be helpful or even races cheers

There are very few time trials in France (or anywhere else in Europe). Almost all the racing is road racing.
There are occasional ones, often 2 ups or age-related. Normally you would need a UCI (i.e. British Cycling) racing licence.
The Duo Normande 2 up in the Autumn is popular with UK riders, and has lots of categories.

Don't expect flat or straight courses abroad; lumpy with loads of techical corners and varying surfaces is the norm. Times are pretty well irrelevent; finishing position is what counts.0
