Stem Silly Questions

I'm looking to change my stem and bars and end up with a lower front end. Looking at the array of different stems available is the height of the clamp on the steerer tube a standard dimension? i.e. will all the spacers still work?

And if the stem is describes as 70mm is that bar centre to steerer center dimension?

No, stem heights can be different - you may need different spacers.

Usually are measured middle to middle, but see FAQ on how rise affects the actual reach.
