Haha, dude, you must have the most amazing spare part list going!!

Great bikes, I had one for a little while, thoroughly enjoyed it. I like the build too, very nice.. not quite sure what it is, but it has your 'signature look'.. not even quite sure I know what that means myself, but it makes sense. Kind of. :P

    Lovely.

And what are you doing so close to me, I'm just down the road in Astley. Would it be really cheeky to ask if I could have a look at it sometime, as I'm in the middle of trying to choose between one of these and some other choice frames... Is it an 18" also?

it is an 18. its actualy gone to a mate that lives in leigh. i am doing some work on it though next week so you might be able to have a feel. really is a nice piece of kit for the money, fees right as soon as you get on it and its a good weight without trying to hard, a lighter set of brakes, bars and stem would take it under 25lbs. buying all the bits separately you could make a full 2012 xt build with revs for less than £1300.

just done a quick reckon up and for £1399 you could have a full 2012 xt group inc brakes, rockshox revelation rl's15mm thru, on-one max am wheeset, pus decent quality on-one finishing gear and folding nobby nics all built onto a carbon 456.

  • Those C456s are immense value.

    T'is a nice looking bike.

That stem still makes me want to dig my eyes out with a spork though. And it's a shame the On-one bars are more purple than red.

Whoooooaaa fella, stop spending my money for me, i'm bad enough as it is :) I've already got all the kit I need to go on it, it's (assuming I end up with a 456) going to be a nice single ring 9 spd affair with hope brakes and hubs and syncros rims, should be a good robust but light tool.

I'd really appreciate a look / feel, so if you can give me a shout whenever, that would be cool.

as ive mentioned this bike has gone to a mate in leigh, my back wont tolerate hardtails anymore. i did lee quarry on my old lynskey ht and although it was fun i nearly died a few times. im in the process of stripping my azonic avenger and building up a cannondale prophet which i hope to take to the quarry. only been there once and it was very wet and muddy so next time i go i want to do it in the dry just so i can get used to the place.

Jesus wept, pass the eye bleach!

Sure it's a nice bike, underneath all the horrific clashing parts.

 They're getting better though, you're down to just three colours now rather than the 7 or 8 of the previous bikes!

Too many shades of 'not quite red' going on there, still a 456C can't ever really look bad can it!
