CW Aero Wheel Test

So in this week's Cycling Weekly there's a test of "£1K deep-section carbon wheels".
They take 10 pairs of 50mm deep section wheels and test weight, inertia, lateral rigidity, opposite displacement, frontal stiffness & friction torque.
Surely one of the main criteria for chosing a pair of aero wheels is, er how aero they are? - just about the only thing they don't test

They probably weren't prepared to pay £600-£1000 an hour for wind tunnel time.***** Pro Tour Pundit Champion 2020, 2018, 2017 & 2011 *****0

And outside of the testing lab - could you tell a difference in their speed due to their aero performance ? The aero differences between them are probably too small to notice in the real world.0

surely all that matters is how cool they look...Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

The most important criteria is how much advertising space they offer...
I suggest to sell some to recoup some of the investment... If you cycle in busy areas I can see that becoming a businessleft the forum March 20230
