Trying to remove my freehub body as its sounding very ropey. Wheels are Giant PSL-1, hub stamped with DT Swiss
The axle nut unscrews off the non drive side easily to get the other side off does it need to be held in a vice with one of those axle holder thingy's?? I presume the nut has to be removed to get the freehub off? otherwise Ive been struggling for nothing.

Possibly helpful, but I'm not sure if your hub is the same design - the axle looks different:

With my DT240s I was able to get the freehub off by hand but it required quite a lot of force.0 -
Yeah mine has a locking nut on either end holding the end caps in. For reference these are 2012 wheels.
Thanks though for the link.0 -
Yes you need to get the nut off then the spacer and freehub will pull off by hand the hub is dt onyx based.0

Thanks Baznav, do I require one of these to grip the threaded bit of the axle and stop it from spinning on itself, or is there another technique.

Axle vice is advisable but if the nut is tight this can still fail, in the past i have taken off nut that doe's move and then tap the end of the axle so it pushes the cartridge bearing and freehub off together, once the axle is out of the hub you can clamp the unthreaded centre part of the axle in a vice to remove the other nut but only as a last resort.0
