Hey all, i'm moving back to Cambridge next month, and am having a hard time selling my mtb, so am considering just taking it with me if there are any decent trails within an hour and a half of driving from Cambridge? I know Thetford forest, but remember i'm coming from Austria, so I like lots of single track and weavy tracks, not just XC.
Is there anything worth considering near me once i'm there?

Er, isnt singletrack/weavy tracks XC?
Anyway, you got Woburn/Chicksands as well as Thetford, then as you're in cambridge you obviously got the Chilterns not far from you and the North/South downs are a little further.0 -
Cambridgeshire is littered with decent bridleways, perhaps worth seeking some out when you get there.2011 Carrera Fury

XC for me is full size fire roads, not any single track. We have lots of that here, but it's too boring for me, trails actually have a meaning here
Are there quite good trails there?
Waby, I do plan on buying a TT/road bike once I'm back for regular riding, and save the MTB for special journeys if/when I have time to ride somewhere. Thanks for the tip!0 -
How far of a drive is Thetford Forest from Cambridge anyways? Been there once, but don't remember how long it took!0
