Hi, not sure if this is in the right section, but i'm wanting to get my finger into the downhill pie once my back/shoulders sort themselves out. I've been looking at the cube bikes above as i've heard nout but good things about them.
basically i was wondering how you find these bikes as i'm really looking for a bike thats more than capable for a real blast DH but still manageable if i decide to do a bit of xc as well (if that makes sense)
also has anybody got any other bikes to throw into the mix? i won't be able to buy for a while anyway so thought i might as well crack on and decide on a bike now so i don't rush into it when i have got the cash burning a hole lol
sorry if my post seems a bit all over the place and asking for the world lol. i'm not really all that clued up on full sussers and their different variations lol
cheers
james

    Hi James, James here..

I've got a Hanzz, if you fancy being bored for a while you can pop on to my thread and have a read (link in my sig)

I've never ridden the Fritzz but I think if my head had been ruling my wallet the Fritzz would have been the one to go for as it seems more AM where the Hanzz is FR, never looked back though and it handles all the DH I can throw at it / it at..

Short story is it's great, no issues apart from the Fox Vans being sh1te but that's hardly Cubes fault, and nothing that can't be remedied.

Are you thinking of 2011 or 2012 models?

    hi james, james again. ;)
cheers for your reply bud, i've already looked through your thread and it was what got me wanting the hanzz lol, there seems to be something about the hanzz that always brings me back to it. i'll be sitting here and convince myself that the fritzz would be the better all round option, its cheaper and more versatile ... but then i look at the hanzz again and just can't help but lust after it  . if only her indoors would let me get both lol.
  • I think if you're planning a lot of xc, then you probably need the Fritzz...

Hanzz is an awesome bike, but like the Canyon, its ain't light haha!

    Hi James, James replying..

It seems we're similar by more than just name, you've summed up exactly my sentiments when I was looking to buy, head = Fritzz heart = Hanzz..

Apparently I got the last medium available. Remember the 2012 models are slightly different in colour (not sure about geo) and you've got a choice of 3 models, The Bicycle Doctor in Porth (South Wales) are stockists; not sure if you need that info or not

Bens right though, it'll either make you really fit or kill you if you're more xc biased. I'm an optimist so plumped for the option a :D

i really like the look and spec of the fritzz TBH and it seems like you get a ridiculous spec for the price (as with all cubes IMO).
(p.s how do you crate links in your sig, but have them as words? i really cant work it out lol)

and yea i see what you mean with head vs. heart, to be honest by the time i get round to getting it the 2013 models will be out lol, which will hopefully mean big savings on 2012 models... which could be dangerous as im sure the hanzz will appear as a bargain and before i know it i'll be passed out at the top of a hill somewhere  although i have got a ltd. pro HT for that sort of thing i suppose.....

(see i'm arguing with myself away from the more sensible option again lol)

Ahhhh well if you've got a HT then the Hanzz is the obvious choice, why compromise on the big bike if you've got a
    whippet too!

Yea should be saving to be had by the time you're picking yours up, and heavy = fitter. That's what I tell myself. There's a CUBE / Hanzz thread on Pinkbike.com too and the guys use those as they're do it all bikes, xc/dh/am all of it, as do I.

Re the sig, this is what mine looks like

    right sod it i agree!
    Hanzz it is!!!
it may be less versatile to an extent but it's worth it i assume? and better downhill?
(btw i'm based in essex but id love to come across once i've got the hanzz for a blast lol)

Well I haven't ridden the Fritzz so hard to say but the Hanzz does me for everything I've ever used it for. Is there a better (Fritzz?) machine out there to do some of it? Definately. Do I care, hell no

Yea pop over when you've got it, some say we've got some pretty good riding around South Wales :D

I was is Basildon not long ago, didn't see many hills :?

and i have heard about these welsh hilly things... apparently they go upity up up??
i spent a few days in llangollen a few years ago and fell in love with the place. been trying to get back there for ages but i can never seem to get everything sorted at the same time  i very nearly booked a hotel last xmas but got called into work for an emergency and got snowed in for 36 hours !!!!!!! not impressed lol

i managed to get my self an extra week of paid leave last year because i worked a 17 day "week" where staffing was so bad due to "adverse weather" lol (a light dusting of snow is all it takes and the hospital seems fall apart lol), the joys of the working for the NHS
