Is the FIT Kashima version noticeably better (worth the extra £££)? How will the 160mm Float R stand up to freeride/light-DH? Anyone got any experience with it?

I'd go for the FIT RLC - the adjustable compression damping on a long travel fork does make a difference.

The R is a pretty basic open bath fork with limited adjustment, and does tend to dive a lot.

Aye, the Float R's really not that good a fork- it's for people who want the Fox logo rather than for people who want the performance IMO ;) It'll be tough enough but if you're riding hard you'll definately be able to make use of the better damping from the FIT RLC (or from a Mission Control Lyrik or 55 ti)
