Routes in Shrewsbury, Welshpool area

I'm renting a cottage next week for a short break (Mon to Fri) and SWMBO has given permission to take my road bike :D

So I'm looking for nice quiet road routes around 30 to 50 miles based around Lea Cross, Shrewsbury, SY5 8HY.

I've looked on Strava and there's some nice climbs, I just don't know how busy the roads are round there. Here is my first attempt based on a Strava route - http://ridewithgps.com/routes/997446 - does it look OK?
Summer - Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Team
Winter - Trek Madone 3.5 2012 with UDi2 upgrade.

    Those A roads are pretty quiet at this time of year. I don't know the area brilliantly but have used the A468 and A489 a few times and would have no problem riding on it. If in that area then I would really recommend getting a route that goes over the Long Mynd from Church Stretton if possible (or from the other side which is steeper).
