    Sounds like the Swedes.

But any EU ID is perfectly acceptable.

Ask for their manager next time.

I did* - they need to fill in a special passport number and as that's not on EU documents they are not accepted. It's not because I had no id, but that their form would be wrong.

*More accurately she came over when I started making a scene....

Now, more than ever, I don't want to be a Dutch Citizen....

I don't think there is anything I could get. i showed her my registration documents with the town hall, passport, Drivers licence,n rental agreement for the postal address i even had my sodding Birth certificate.....

I ve had to get them to return the package to Germany so i can re-order it and have it sent to work. It's so much bullsh1t and will cost me the price of delivery again.

    cannot believe it!

I don't know if that's possible, usually the EU/GB Driving licence is fine. Are nt they now the same across the EU? I just don't think these people live in the real world unfortunately, probably another post office would have been fine.

I haven't had any problem here (NL) ever with that sort of thing. Maybe it's Hollanders or something. Even buying cars without a GBA form was OK.
By their reasoning you can only use TNT post if you are Dutch...! Weird.
Invite them to flikker op! Take the box, it's your property and not any criminal offence as long as you don't slap anyone in the process.

Oh, just a thought. If you have the little orange leaflet left by the postman you can nominate someone to pick up your post on it I think (not 100% on this) so you can send an 8ft clog-man instead.

I could - but who? I'd have to drag someone from work down which is not fair on them really...Plus what they re saying is that we can't give the package to the correct person but we ll happily give it to the wrong one...wtf?

As I said to Nick, it required someone with a modicum of intelligence to realise what the problem was, but unfortunately that was nt the case in this one....I ve not ever received anything from them before, It was sent by DHL in Germany but for some reason they gave it to TNT to deliver to my home address (On saturday but, the guy did nt have enough intelligence to ring the door bell so I missed him). I went on the website hoping to have it sent to work but that was nt possible and where there was NOTHING about what ID I needed (hence I took my little bag with all my docs in it down just in case).

Edit - Bike-Discount.de refunded the entire cost of the package, including postage - another very positive vote for them, They are fast becoming my chosen internet retailer, even over the Big British two

Oh and GP4000 S' are great tyres

Post nl still Suck though - Despite my passport being sent as a super secure, signed for service, they just dropped it through the door at work! So not only are they wrong - They re inconsistently wrong!!
