has anyone set one up fort their son/daughter?

i mean someone not old enough to have a bank account

Can you just set one up and use a voucher or do you need to put someones bank details in.

I had an Apple Id before I had a bank account, so Im fairly sure you dont need bank details. I could still use vouchers as well.

I think I had to put card details in when I did my daughter's. I tried to deliberately get a number wrong but it saw through my plan and told me where to go.
Not sure if you can get around it just using a voucher. I didn't have one to hand and she was itching to get started, so I folded like a father faced with a pleading 10 year old.
Sorry I can't be more use.
  • We had this problem too when both my daugters got iPod Nano's. Couldn't see a way round it so my wife set up an account for them to use.

I haven't been into our local Apple store to ask about this, but next time I'm passing.

Come to think of it why would you need an account if you're not going to buy anything from iTunes, which would need a linked account surely ?
