    Hi James,

I thought I'd give Eclipse a go because as you say, the price is right! I was prepared to risk £20 and take a punt on the chance that they would come through with my dream jersey. As a precaution I created a new e-mail address purely for this one purchase. The day after I submitted my design I was unable to access that e-mail address as it had been locked by Hotmail due to too many false password attempts (and it wasn't me!). Now the only people that knew this e-mail address existed were Eclipse. I then tried to track the 'ticket number' they give you for your design and their own web site said that it didn't exist. Also they have never contacted me about the jersey despite their web site saying that their designer will contact you to confirm the design.

My conclusion is that if it sounds to good to be true then it usually is! I'm definitely not going to risk it again and am thankful that it didn't actually cost me any money. Beware of Chinese web sites!

    Regards, EarlyGo

I'm currently in the process of ordering one of their jeresys that I have designed myself. They have always got back to me and they have been patient to create the jeresy I was after. Sometimes the language barrier has led to some mis understanding in what I wanted in the design but on the whole I can't fault the process. It is obviously slow due to the time differnces so email responses can take up to 2 days. So far I've had about a dozen e-mails in helping me get what I want so I don't understand the above comment from Earlygo.

Still there is a chance it could go wrong, and I will post back later.
  • Ok cheers jezandu, would definitely like to know how you get on with it and the final product when it arrives.
  • So finally after a month of waiting (which in fairness is about right for their lead times quoted) my Jeresy arrived! I'm am over all very happy with it. Mainly because its unique and my design has been translated very well onto the Jersey. The actual Jeresy I ordered was a long sleeve Thermal top. The top is made by Descente which has been sold by wiggle before and make various cycle clothing, so the quality isn't that bad. Certainly on par with your usual £40 Jerseys but not as good as say Assos. But I never expected it would be.

On a negative point the printing isnt perfect and a touch of 'ghosting' is aparent in the print which is only obvious if you study it for a while, I imagine no one would really notice whilst i was on the bike!

The Jersey cost me £32 which is good value and that includes the charge for shipping. So if you think about it you are getting quite a good deal. You can buy a Jersey and shorts for the same value. I will be writting a full review on my blog soon.

  • BUT WAIT!!! Everything is not all it seems. When I've gone back to the website to buy more of my design it doesn't exist anymore. In fact, all of the designs by people have disapeared. Not good if you have a group of people who want to buy a club Jersey.

I'll get back if the issue is resolved or not.......

that's a much more reasonable price for a one-off design.
  • i admit i was drawn to the eclipse ones, i have now completely decided against purchasing a one off jersey as have to save for a house instead, but the design for your club one does look amazing jezandu! really like your blog as well.

  • Thanks James. Just to follow up, the company emailed me back with links to my design which allow me buy more, and means others on the team can too. So all over I'm happy enough to use them again.

One word of advice to anyone. They are a Chinese company so when writing to them, keep it simple. Otherwise instructions get lost in translation! Don't even try humour!
