Ontario, Canada
Hi, I am looking to head to Ontario this summer for holiday and fancy couple of days mountain biking. But where is best to go ? Any recommendations ? I enjoy red and black at most of the top trail centres nd hopefully Canada provides epic versions

Ontario is a big county. And a lot of it is very very flat.
You are oing o have o be a bit mre specific.
Oh when I say big, I mean bigger than the UK."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I used to live in southern Ontario, just west of Toronto. As nick says, Ontario is enormous. It ranges from a big urban sprawl around Toronto, to a vast forested wilderness to the north and west of North Bay (about 6 hours drive north of Toronto).
Around Toronto, there are a few spots for biking but nothing like out west in the Rockies or around Whistler. I used to bike around Glen Eden (http://gleneden.on.ca), which has several mtb trails, good for a few hours. It's located about 45 minutes by car to the west of Toronto. Nearby Hilton Falls also has a few mtb trails and you can combine them for a day's outing. There are some very good trails at Hardwood Hills, about an hour north of Toronto (http://www.hardwoodhills.ca).
Ottawa is a very bike-friendly place and lots of mtb'ers go to Gatineau Park, what has low rolling hills. I am not familiar with any mtb'ing outside of Toronto and Ottawa although I'm sure it exists. But again, distances are large so if you are doing research, check the map and make sure it's within a reasonable distance. For example, driving from Ottawa to Thunder Bay is an 18 hour drive. It's a big province!0 -
Haven't been more specific as I haven't booked yet, going to Toronto for few days then travel elsewhere, and that will include a couple of days mtb somewhere, depending on recommendations, hence this question.0

I wasn't overly impressed with Hardwood hills, but that was a few years ago. May have improved since but cetainly enough to keep you occupied for a day.
If I ever get back over there I'll be giving Blue Mountain a whirl (ski lifts et al) http://www.bluemountain.ca/mtnbike.htm0 -
Thanks, looking at the Blue Mountain site and it appears best option do far, although I am trying to convince wife we should consider Vancouver and BC area too now.0
