  • I have been using continental mountain king 2.2 wire bead over winter. They were ok, but slippy when wet and prone to punctures.
I replaced them with Panaracer Fire XC Pro folding tyres this week, first ride today, 12 miles round a wet muddy red route. Massive difference. Buy some :D
Merlin cycles have a deal on them, 2 tyres with 2 inner tubes, £44 delivered.

Love Maxxis, use Advantage 2.1 over winter and The Ardent 2.25 over summer.

    `10 Specialized fsr xc pro
  • Continental X King 2.4 - Winter
    Continental X King 2.4 - Summer
    Continental Race King 2.2/2.4 Summer
Maxxis Crossmark - All year round at trail centres.
Maxxis Minion / Highroller 2.5 Super Tacky for DH.

But these options suit me, my weight, where I ride, How I (and the bike) roll. :0)

Tires are like marmite, they are loved by some (Panaracer Fire XC Pro) but hated by others (me)...

If you can, have a selection to choose from, same as if you had a different pair of shoes for a different occasion.. :0)
