They mentioned on the news this morning about a solar flare that could affect GPS today. I checked on garmin.connect and if I disabled elevation corrections I spent quite a bit of time today upto 74 feet below sea level on my commutes. All other commutes I checked were above ground. Anyone else affected ?

I've been looking out for any aurora, but it seems the storms have been less severe than expected.

Unfortunately too cloudy here for spotting aurora. The real storm (wind version) is more impactful

I was going to leave the carbon bike at home, just in case it was irradiated and became hydrogen enbrittled or something...

GPS altitude figures tend to be a bit wild. I've climbed 100s of metres cycling along dykes in Holland before now.

I don't think Vermin's had any problems. I believe he really does commute to Burkina Faso at a few thousand miles an hour. Take a look at the Strava thread.

    Re: aurora. go here http://aurorawatch.lancs.ac.uk/

It is on red alert which means if it was dark we would be seeing northern lights all over the UK.

My Garmin 800 turned itself off at somepoint on my ride in this morning ... and I only noticed just after I'd pushed really hard (for me) on a segment.

Do I blame "The Storm" ... or Wiggle?
