...the reason why we ride. It's because it is really, really good fun 8) There is no better way to travel. We all know it and sometimes it's good to remember, despite all the hassles, what jolly good fun it is whizzing about on a bike...

Well said, by the originator of Silly Commuter Racing. I think that always deserves a mention.
With all of the protest rides, campaigns, helmet arguments, RLJ rants etc, its easy to forget that riding a bike is a great laugh and the best way to get around town (or from some hick village to civilisation for all the bumpkins).
