So now im confused i thought you were describing the SL

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... tedKingdom

which at 985 euros which is what about £830 would be a bargin

however your LTD CC is better specced which makes it even more of a bargin at that price

The OP mentioned the Race and the CC in their original post. I haven't seen the Sl under €1199 anywhere so yeah, that would be a bargain. I also think the CC is incredibly close to the SL spec wise just cheaper. Mabe the XT brakes are better than the Magura... not sure (although I have read good things about the new Magura brakes), otherwise not much difference (the CC even has XT shifters as opposed to SLX on the SL).

I'm very very close to buying the 2012 CC and the only reason I haven't ordered one yet is because part of me still really wants a 29er this time... Unfortunately the one I have fallen for and would end up getting roughly the same mech. spec as the CC (and then some) is the Reaction GTC SL 29er, but it is almost twice as expensive and almost twice my budget :(.

Do you like black anodized? i prefer the colour of the race, but i´m afraid cc is only black anodized.

Fortunately that's not a problem for me as I really like the black anodized. My last bike was a 2010 Cube Attention and the high gloss green/black (mostly green) grabbed my attention at the dealer but I got tired of it... so I'm going a little more low key this time (and I just like black). But I do like a lot of Cubes colors... especially the GTC SL 29. I find it really striking. I don't care so much for the LTD SL 29 colors so it's a little hit and miss depending on your taste.
  • Finally, against all your advice im gonna buy the race, jajajaja. I like it much more than the cc.
    Thanks everyone

In the end it's what you feel right about getting for what ever reason that counts.

I used countless hours trying to research what bike to get within my budget, wants, needs, and taste. As bad as I wanted to get a 29er it just didn't feel like the right decision right now. Maybe that will change down the road a bit, who knows. I ordered the CC Sunday because in the end my gut feeling was that that was the right bike for me at this point in time, but again that's just me and we are all different.

I think that the Race, SL, and CC are so close to each other spec wise that an amateur like myself would be hard pressed to tell the difference by ride alone. Looking forward to hear how you like it :).

One last question: fox is 300€ more expensive than reba.
The diference between XT and SLX is similar??

No. But as you've bought one what difference does it make?

From what I can see the price difference between the shocks isn't that great (Fox cost more than Reba... $595 vs $500 on a US site). The Magura brakes on the CC seem to be quite a bit more expensive than the Shimanos on the Race ($100 each w/o rotor vs $40). And all the XT components on the CC cost more than their SLX counterparts... looks like the hubs are slightly better on the Race (but both have XT hubs), but it was hard to find both versions of parts on one site to do accurate comparisons.

Not sure if that's what you were asking...

Edit: Not sure about the hubs after all... The CC has XT HB/FH 756 while the Race has 785's but the 756's are more expensive on a site that had both (£36 vs £29). The 756 looked a little more heavy duty build wise.

So the CC gives more for the same price. Great job. Thanks a lot!!!

Yeah it would seem that way. Cube also describe the bike as a:
Fast sporting hardtail for performance-motivated riders. Exhibition model with superior price performance ratio.
The funny thing is I can't see what is so attractive about the Race or the SL for the same price... or more in the SL's case (other than they are available in other colors) as the CC looks to have the same frame and better components for the same or less (again, as far as I can see). There is a slight weight difference with the CC being the heaviest (CC 12.3 kg Race 12.1 kg and SL 11.9 kg)

Back to shocks... Another reason I personally would choose the Reba over the Fox (for lack of anything else to go by with my experience level) is that there is no Pop Lock on the Fox and I missed having that on my Cube Attention when I had it (the ability to lock the front fork from a lever on the handlebars) .
