Peanut M+M's - May contain nuts

(Which is double funny as peanuts aren't nuts - they're "legumes")

Not really better, but more of the same.

I have a pack of mussels in my freezer which is marked "contains shellfish".

I also remember from my days in chemistry, that we had a large book of Material Safety Data Sheets, which contained all the info we needed to know about the chemicals on our shelves, and how to handle accidents from the same.

One such "chemical" was purified water. There were first aid precautions to be taken should you get it on your skin, you had to "wash with soap and water". I sh1t you not.

The older I get, the better I was.

There's always the old takeaway coffee cups that have "Contents Maybe Hot" or something similar after someone in the USA successfully sued because they were drinking whilst driving, spilled it and got scalded. Obviously the sellers fault for selling coffee hot!

I know this to be true. I spent a while as a science technician in a secondary school and remember chuckling at this one.

Not quite the same but for a while I worked as a chef in a large chain of American restaurants (not the American/Italian one). When we unpacked the chicken from the !00% chicken pack, there was a note on it that csaid "contains 18% water".

These are common in MSDS's. My 2 favorites are
Soap - avoid contact with skin, wear impervious gloves if contact likely
Water - fatal by ingestion !! (Think about it, it is technically correct. If you drink enough water, fast enough it will kill you)

Food packaging and MSDS's are written by manufacturers to protect them not you

Safety advice on some clothing labels. Keep away from fire.

I'd love to find some different advice like. Look both ways when crossing the road. Don't drink and drive. Don't lend the missus your credit card.

A friend of mine owns a sandwich shop. On the menu board, she had 'Tuna mayo roll'. She was told by the local (what ever it is) authority, that she had to lable it as "contains fish".

    I sh!t you not !!!
