Does anyone have any experience of the Dolan titanium ADX, their audax/sportive bike?

Can't seem to find any reviews online, other than a piece on velo uk which isn't a review as such. Looks like it could be a great 'do it all' alternative to a VN yukon, Burls, enigma etape etc and at £1k for the frameset is reasonably priced, however can't find much info on how it rides, tyre clearances etc. Anyone?

(I really like the look of it so I guess I'm really looking for someone to convince me I should buy it).

The information you are looking for is here

    http://www.dolan-bikes.com/Titanium%20R ... duct_id=73

    under "frame details"..

Tyre clearance 23 mm only, but it takes mudguards... seems a bit odd to me... other than that it seems a pretty neat framset, which makes a lot of sense.
1.6 Kg is the same weight of a steel frame, so you have all that market too to explore... in terms of behaviour, a Ti frame or a modern steel one... very similar

  • Thanks for the response, I have thought about steel and for that budget could be looking at a Chas Roberts R853 compact Audax Special so trying to weigh up options (Chas Roberts is closer to current home but Dolan is closer to real home).

The Dolan site doesn't seem that helpful in terms of delivery and returns etc - should proabably just give them a call. I don't know if there is much experience on here of buying via the Dolan website?

I wouldn't think twice and go for a made in Croydon one... do you get the forks too for that price? If so, go for it. Only problem, Roberts is a bit on the slow side, as most frame builders, so if you are in a rush, off the peg might be the better option
