Struggling with this one. Found someone advertising Exustar as SPD SL covers but found they were look and SPD only.

Shimano make them but struggling to find a stockist. I do a lot of commuting that involves walkig on train platformes etc. So want to make the cleats last
Current Stock:

Yep, anyone used em. At £12 thats the price of the cleats, Im just wondering if they make they wear out as quickly as the cleats :-)

i use SPD-SL on my road and time trial bikes, however i use SPDs on my commuter and MTB. I rarely walk far when on my TT or road bike, but the ease of walking and the extra longevity of the steel SPD cleats over plastic SPD-SL cleats in is far more preferable on my commuter.

Im tempted to run different pedals as I have 2 shoe sets. But once in a while i like to use sunday best bike for weekly commute. Doesnt make me any faster, just better feel to the bike :-)

Have opted for the shimano made ones. But would be interested to get a review from this site. The other cover I looked at was probikeskins (looks like they dont need to be removed but would be a hassle with overshoes) and cleatskin products. has anyone tried these?

  • Most of the cyclists in America use cleatskins. They are ace. Dont see them in the UK much but had a search and came across this website: http://www.sportstechlab.com/category-s/1842.htm . Know they do SPD covers.
  • Wiggle have recently started selling the Cleatskins too.

    I've got the Shimano covers:

You should be able to get any LBS to order them, but if you jsut google SMSH45 you should be able to find a list of stockists. I think I ordered mine from a shop in Petersfield, Hampshire, where they carried them in stock. I've only used them a couple of times, but they offer a good grippy, stable platform when in the cafe.
