cleaning inside fork lowers
gtd.

Stripped my Rev426 forks the damper was full of greasy oil, the air spring full of oily grease and the lowers are full of gunky stubborn greasy gunk.
Cleaned the damper and air spring with isopropyl alcohol but what can I use in the lowers?
It would take a lot of alcohol to clean this gunk out! the foam rings were full of slimy gooey grease looks like who ever did the last service didn't use the right oils.

As nicklouse says, use a big bottle brush.
After that I give them a squirt of chain cleaner from an aerosol can, Lidl's own brand is good and cheap. It's not always in stock though so buy loads when it is (it's good for chains as well ).0
