Now, admittedly the weather last Sunday was cack, but my shades kept misting up on hills, etc.

Any tips for stopping this?

Ta

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Spot of washing up liquid on the inside of the lens and polish dry. You can also get specific anti mist sprays though these are obviously dearer.
Can also help to push the specs down your nose a bit to improve venting when you're going slowly uphill.

I tend to take them off, flip them the other way up and stow then in the vents of my helmet for climbing, even more so in summer being a sweaty bugger! Then a quick wipe and refit for the descent.

Spit on them. Works with diving masks as well. Just don't do it after a piece of flap jack :?

Used all the above tricks along with Oakley's "Hydrophobic" liquid rip off but none work - maybe I'm just a sweaty b*****d. Used to use washing up liquid or wax on a motorbike visor and that wasn't very good either. Personally I've given up on eye protection and wear a cap to keep the sun out of my eyes and think the risk of eye impact injury is less than the risk of collision/ crash from impaired vision.

I suffered from the same issue... but got a pair of these...

They have hydrophobic lenses... wasn't sure of the claims... but they do work a treat (you can literally breath over them and they don't mist). I'm sure there are lots of other hydrophobic glasses (or sprays) out there.

You could try this anti-fog stuff and see how you get on. I am currently using it but am not too convinced... but it only costs a few quid when you order next time around.

I get the impression that the only way to stop misting up on certain days is to get decent glasses (I saw some nice "vento" ones, or something like that). My cheapo Bolles are great for most occassions (and stupidly cheap) but are close fit which seems to guarantee misting up issues (still, at a fiver, hard to complain).

That's my problem; cheapo Bolles. Suppose close-fitting is a good thing for safety specs though!

Ride on country roads in Summer & you will get an eye impact injury almost everytime out..flies.

It's no fun when one goes in on a sharp descent :(

There is this kind of waxy stuff you can get in little red containers called "Cat Crap" (not trolling, thats the actual name). I had a friend who used to ride fast motor bikes at over 100mph and used this to stop his visor misting up. I know this because he lent me it whilst we went paintballing, obviously to stop the eye guard from misting up and it works really well.

You just apply a little bit to the lenses in the your glasses, it should work a treat.

    Hope this helped. 8)

Take them off when you stop, or smear a small amount of fairy liquid onto them and polish in.

Ive always had issues with misting. Tried numerous anti fog sprays/wipes etc, washing up liquid, spit, the lot. None worked. And then i got a pair of Oakley Jawbones with vented lenses and i have not misted up since. Did have an issue where the rain froze on the inside of the lens a while ago (when it was rather damn cold outside) but then i suspect that would have happened with any shades.

Had the same problem on yesterdays ride, so "polished in" a tiny amount of washing liquid before going out this morning. Similar conditions and similar distance, and no fogging of the lenses. Worked for me on the Spesh Miura adaptalites I was using anyway... 8)
