bracket. If I hold a pedal and wiggle it I can see the other pedal arm moving inconjunction with it.
How do I tell if it's borked or not?
Disappointing thread.....

If it's a sealed cartridge BB, and there's 'waggle' then it's shot - they are effectively disposable and not designed to be serviced.
Perhaps a soupçon less awesome in future - first the hub bearings, then the axles, now this1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

He uses granite bearings in a diamond shell, carved by Thor himself.
Actually, I think it's more likely something expensive and ceramic...Cannondale Synapse 105, Giant Defy 3, Giant Omnium, Giant Trance X2, EMC R1.0, Ridgeback Platinum, On One Il Pompino...0 -

The BB is original and outlasted a few wheels and a frame...
It's had a fair attempted at coping with raw power awesome.
I assume fixing it sooner rather than later is advisable?Purveyor of sonic doom

Before it seizes, yeah, I would.
BTW, how is the BB 'original' if it's outlasted the frame? If it's a basic square taper JIS cartridge, just ditch it and get another, they are about £15.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

The frame cracked while still in warranty (a manufacturing fault) and the whole bike was swapped over, I assumed this would include the bottom bracketPurveyor of sonic doom
