Hi all,

I was changing the gf's cables this weekend for the first time on her 2010 Spesh Rockhopper SL Pro and although I have it working I am not convinced I have the cable routed corrected through/around the front mech.

I usually take photo's but I looked at it and said to myself "well thats obvious" and ploughed on regardless. But although its working fine it just does not seem the same as it was. Before I tampered with it, it was as per factory!

Can anyone PM me a picture or post one of a similar front mech or bike just to put my mind at rest.

The only spec I have is its a Shimano Deore front mech!!!

Cheers,

Shaun

    Nope. CBA.

But is it bottom or top pull?

If bottom pull it should come up from the guide and be slotted around the loop (the loop has notches on that you'll need to make sure the cable goes under either way.)

Also ensure the fixing bolt and washer are correct - look under the washer and you'll see a cable mark from last time and make sure it's that way around.

    Hi chaps,

It's a top pull, cable comes down then seat tube.

    Thanks for your help.
