Right,
After shall we say 'a tipple' on Sat night I am no longer in possession of my iPhone 4, pieces of it maybe but it will never walk again that's for sure.
I'm with Orange and as said I don't have insurance on it. I think I've got around 10 months left on the contract but I may be out there by a few months either way. What's my next move? I'm fairly happy to get a cheap PAYG sim and phone in the short term but how do I go about getting another iPhone, if that's even possible in the near future (without having to spend a few hundred quid of course) I'd like to be able to keep my existing number going forward..
I'm pretty nieve on what to do here
As an aside - I don't think I should be drinking anymore..

Claim on your contents insurance?0

Could have been an option. I'm aware however of the "you can't claim if you were drunk and threw it against a wall" clause.
We call it the idiots clause in work (I work in insurance)
The term 'Idiot' doesn't do me justice in this case..
More than happy to go Android - it's the getting one in a cost effective way that I'm needing advice on..Cube Hanzz Pro FRSquarepants wrote:It's not that I'm over over biked, my bike is under personed...0 -
Learn from your mistake and get insurance?
Anyway, didn't you say you dropped it whilst crossing the road and a car ran over it?It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

If you were drunk and threw a phone against a wall, I'd suggest using payphones from now on.
Or failing that, buy another phone and just make sure your carer keeps hold of it for you on your release days.0 -
What's actually wrong with it? eBay is full of spares and there's videos all over YouTube about fixing them. They're not particularly complex. The 4 is a bit worse because everything is attached to the screen, whilst in all the previous ones everything's been attached to the back cover, but even so.0

Mule and Cat - Couldn't agree more
learn from my mistake - hopefully
get a carer because I've been an idiot - a strong possibility..
njee - a fix is out of the question.Cube Hanzz Pro FRSquarepants wrote:It's not that I'm over over biked, my bike is under personed...0 -

So what have you done? Assuming it was from an impact, as opposed to being dropped in a bath there can't be all that much. Screen, housing, cover and digitiser are all easy to replace. I.e the exterior parts of the phone.0 -
Not particularly in a rush, wierdly (and this is putting a positive spin on a rather bad situation) it's 'nice' not to be tied to the thing, i haven't read how anyone needs to go to the gym tonight or what they had for lunch on FB all day, and i don't miss that..
Still a crap situation if I'm honest though, I couldn't care less about the phone but as has already been pointed out - I'm a twunt..
EDIT: njee - trust me it's in a billion pieces..Cube Hanzz Pro FRSquarepants wrote:It's not that I'm over over biked, my bike is under personed...0 -
are you trying to get us to tell you that you should start an insurance policy for your iphone and then in a couple of days, phone and make a claim for an iphone?
if not i dont see the point of the thread and i also think you should live with the way you have behaved and go without a gucci phone for the remainder of your contract. or buy a new one.0 -

Ring up, get insurance on it. Wait a day or two, ring up and report it lost. Simples.0

Yep thanks for that sheeps.
Yes I messed up, yes I was stupid.
Why would I be angling for advice on Insurance fraud

I had one of them, loved it, it came free with my bank account??? it was on vodaphone and it was regular that my bills began with a 2 and had two figures after it
So did orange give you a new one?0 -

I loved my 7110, yea I too remember the days of huge bills because I went over my allotted texts etc.. Those weren't the days..
8210 as well was it, the tiny one that didn't have an arial..
Right well, £180 has got me out of my current contract (7 months) and I've ...... signed up for another contract with a 4GS
I know there's a lot of hate for Apple (myself included) but my rationale was 'better the devil I know' I have a large itunes account and to be fair in spite of the controlling nature of Apple I do get on with it..
Costly error on my part but one I hope to never repeat. Not sure I could have got away with a warranty claim!
It'll be here in 2 to 4 days..Cube Hanzz Pro FRSquarepants wrote:It's not that I'm over over biked, my bike is under personed...0
