Potential Sram Chainset Upgrade

Being a little bit tempted by the discounted Sram Red kit thats being offered, i'm guessing because of the new spec thats on the way.
Particularly interested in the chainset (currently running Rival).
Just got a couple of questions:
Am I right in thinking my existing GXP BB would fit the Red chainset and that I wouldn't have to purchase the Sram Red BB, where I believe the only difference is the ceramic bearings?
And probably more importantly would I actually notice any tangable performance upgrade, or am I just being taken in by the bling?
Interested in any views especially where some of you may have done the same or similar upgrades.

Red runs on any GXP BB (unless it's the BB30 one, of course).
