Hi
I am about to purchase a bike from Evans Cycles for commuting and social use (local park) and am unsure which to bike to select from the below.
Ghost ASX 4900 2012 Mountain Bike - good reviews of previous models and should be good for cutting through park and canals. full suss chosen as advised sometimes bumpy with hard tails
Ghost SE 8000 2012 seems to be a decent bike and as above previous models well received and shortlisted prior to having a conversation with a hard tail owner.
Cannondale Trail SL 29er 2 2012 gone in a different direction here. I have been reading about 29ers and think these may be good for a commute and cutting through grass etc as they are efficient etc.
My final choice is the Ghost HTX 29 Actinum 7000 2012 29er review as 3.5 stars on this site and again for the same reasons as above.
Let me know your thoughts on the ones I have shortlisted
Thanks

A full susser is a waste of time for commuting - more complex, heavier, more expensive and more expensive to maintain. I can hardly think of a commuting route anyone would take that would require it either. Not many routes would require front suspension either TBH. A CX bike would handle most things though might not be so comfortable on really rough tracks.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Unless your commute is like this then Id stay away from suspension :P0
