My first crash...

involved a speedbump - how ironic.
Fell heavily on my left side. Enough to break carbon handlebars, damage shifters, mash left knee, roadrash on shoulder and elbow and snap the a key I was carrying on my lower left side. Can't find the bit that broke off, hopefully it isn't embedded in my body somewhere.
Front wheel popped off (most likely due to impact on skewer), front rim gouged, handlebars turned around 90 degrees (need to inspect carbon steerer) and chip on left chainstay.
Jacket and longs are a write-off but thankfully no permanent injuries and wasn't left lying in a ditch in the middle of nowhere with a concussion. So I will heal - but the bike (Giant TCR Advanced)...
Have inspected it visually but anyone know if Giant will be able to do a check on the frame to ensure there is no other damage (potentially internally?)
Am worried now that I will lose confidence in the frame - would hate to have something let go at 60kmh down a hill with oncoming traffic...
Any suggestions welcome.

Christ! Sounds like a bad off, glad your ok. Just out of interest how did the speedhump knock you off? Ive had a few close shaves with speedhumps where my pedal has nearly bottomed out on them! I'd email Giant if i were you and ask them where you can get your frame examined, probably will be ok though.0

Was taking a drink from my bottle at the time so only had one had on the bars.
With hindsight should have dumped the bottle and put both hands on the bars but it all happened so quickly. Had just completed quite a gnarly section through Wellbury Lower Wood between the A505 and B655 near Great Offley which was more suited to MTBs and thought I was in the clear.
Have never done it before so wasn't familiar with the route. Think it was a private area / road as it had those bollards in the middle of the road that rise out of the ground. The speedbumps were there to make sure you didn't crash into them unexpectedly but not something you typically expect on a country road in the middle of nowhere!
Will check with Giant - thanks.0 -
sounds nasty, hope the bikes alright.

Nearly had my fisrt high speed crash the other day, leaving the road to join a cyclepath the small bump nearly bucked me off the bike, managed to controll it though, lesson learnt, always stand when hitting bumps, speedbumps ect.0

Sounds like quite a bad crash. Just be pleased that you are ok, bikes jackets and shorts can all be replaced
If you got the bike from a reputable bike shop, they'd be my first port of call."That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college! " - Homer0 -

I did this yesterday, also leaving the road to join a cycle path. I was going quicker than I thought and missed the flattest part of the dropped kerb. I ended up hitting the angled kerb with both wheels, I don't think anything is damaged, I'm still getting my head around how strong carbon really is.
To the OP, hope you heal quickly and that your bike isn't damaged.2019 Ribble CGR SL

I also crashed today as I went to join a dedicated cycle path as I hit it too hard and in the wet at 17.5mph, shifter damaged, rear derailleur knackered and grazed elbow with torn jersey/jacket. More annoyed that I continued my ride and 10 miles later the gears got "stuck" in the highest back gear so had to curtail my plans for a longer ride.
