Are we The Peoples Front of Cake Stop?

Nope, we're the Cake Stop Popular Peoples Front !

As we Cake stoppers have been described as Unemployed w4nkers and Crudcatchers have been described as unemployable w4nkers, by one partucular individual, I think that the Popular Front of Cake Stop is justified !

(Feel free to alert Crudcatchers to the highly upsetting name calling.)

Wont be much of a battle!! The thread in "Commuters" got locked by the Moderators it seems - something they have never done to any of the "Girls in" threads. Just been reading some of it - what a load of crap so many of them write!! Hilarious!!

Reminds me of the BBC programme from years ago - anyone remember "Points of View"?? Every complaint coming from someone who took it upon themselves to keep watching a programme that caused them offence? I bet many of them even recorded the programmes so they could repeatedly watch to ensure they didn't miss any offensive points to complain about!! :D

That's what I thought. Why keep looking at threads that offend you? Better keep looking to check I still find them offensive! :-)

I have appointed myself to lead The Democratic Popular Front for the Defence of Cake Stop, or as I call it for short, the Dee Pee Eff Dee Cee Ess. We demand equal representation and the right to be as offended as anyone else.

Why are the commuters so uptight? I thought cycling is supposed to relax you? They should drive to work instead and get rid of some of that anger.

Why are they so uptight? Because they didn't get a f**king PB today, ok. Is that alright with you?!

 Seriously, I once went out in the Bristol 5 o'clock rush hour and I was genuinely scared by how uptight/militant some commuters were. Flinging their arms about at the slightest thing, shouting in windows, flipping fingers, abusive language e.t.c. All within about 2 miles.

Obviously I wouldn't want to generalise but feck me, they're just riding too and from work. Take the speedo off the bike for starters and enjoy the ride. I used to avoid riding at rush hour 'cos of the cars. Now it's 'cos of the commuters.

Can I be a double agent?

I commute to work by bike (sorry no camera footage) where I mainly abuse I.T resources to look at "Girls in threads".

Or am I just a Schizo?

I commute a lot, and the best thing that ever happened was my speedo running out of battery.

The thing that gets me is how others on their morning commute are always WAY too serious to acknowledge other people by way of a nod, wave or 'hello'. Give me the 70 year old sunday outing rider who begins waving furiously from a distance any day. 'AHOY THERE, BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR IT'.

I said that there was a distinct lack of humour over there (in that thread I believe !)

Lack of humour is the least of their concerns, some of them seem to have spent an entire weekend debating the content of a sub-forum that, by their own admission, they don't even fuck1ng visit!

Basically the commuters have decided they can't take a joke and have kicked up a big fuss about the "Girls in..." threads.

Although I'm sure if we checked out some of their helmet cam footage there could be a bit of checking out women.

Look in the "Discuss the website" section for the full thread.

Cheers, think I got fed up after 3 pages... bit like the commuting forum. If you dont like the TV programme change the channel or go and do something less boring instead. How abour starting a "*insert gender* in boring situations" thread?
  • This is what started the whole thing...
Why are threads like Girls in:

    Lycra Shorts
    Knitwear
    Rainwear
    Realistic situations
    Short skirts

Allowed to be prevalent on this website but then they prevent you, by some margin, from swearing?

Yes OK, a picture of breasticles and the word fark aren't directly comparable but both are considered adult. I just don't get the rationale for having one and not the other.

Powers that Be and Mawds, please explain

    From this locked thread.

Basically - Why are they allowed to post pictures of women when we aren't allowed to swear.

Think Ive misposted this on the wrong thread:
"I for one would totally support a ban on "semi-pornograhic" threads. This is despite the fact that I love P0rn. Love it love it love it. Im a happy married husband of 10 years and a father, but still love P0rn.
Depsite that Id support a ban, not getting holier than thou on anyone but..

    1) Bikeradar is a biking site. What earhtly reason (apart from boosting page views and hence advertiser revenue) does the site have for hosting soft core porn

    2) Theres oportunity to upset someone posting something which someone really didnt authorise, like that poor Pole Vaulter girl whos photos went round the world. Yes, some women, evey some cycling women, like to flash pink bits but that shouldnt be treated as a blanlet approval. For whatever reason BR is not regularly, nor strictly monitored. Hence no checks in place to ensure copywrite owners permission

    3) "The dont look if you dont want to" argument is flawed because there may well be people on here who arent very internet savvy (probably most of you having read much herin) and could end up in the wrong place, more importantly it sets the tone foe the overall site. If its OK here then it must be OK there. Also, do you really want your 14 year old kid who will browse website finding this stuff? Honesty? Net Nanny etc works pretty well to block out specifically tagged porn site, but not these kind of photos and the attched pre-pubescent letching

    4) Finally, and most importantly, the internet IS FOR PORN. Hence there are SO MANY sites you can find it. Just go there, dont present yourself with a false legitimacy and sence of decorum (..."but darling, its OK as its only a bike site", not really porn). Admit, as I do, you like p0rn and move on. Just because "my wife says theya re all lesbians that take exception" just proves there are as many types of women as there are, well, men.

We can discuss ad nauseum whether porn is wrong, whether there is a proven link between watching hard core S&M porn and non consentiual sex (there is, but no researcher has ever been able to prove CAUSALITY, ie does one watch porn to fulfil fantasies of bondage instead of doing it, or does one watch it to learn how to do it ) , but thats aslo so not the point.

End of rant. Doubt I will have changed anyones views either way but Im hoping BR mods/editorial may read this.

As you'll see from my CAKE STOP thread, I've come over to the fun side - loads of pics of lovely ladies in small clothes and they've got nice hair and make-up and...erm............... yes, erm the Commuter Chat was depressing and boring. Most of them live in London and moan about their commute to work. Serves them right for living there!
Cake Stop is so much better. Just because this a cycling forum, doesn't mean we have to talk about bikes and biking all the time. I like to talk about music and lovely lovely girls showing themselves off and ..erm.. other things that I can't think of at the moment.
    Long live the Cake Stop!!!!!!!!!!

Some of us like both y'know. It's not being a commuter that's the problem, it's being a right-on keen-to-show-your-support-for-a-cause that's caused a divide. Include me out of that stuff.
