Hi all
I am a new member to this forum... I have just purchased a Van Nicholas Yukon frame and " Build Bits" from Fatbirds, and have had the bike built by them.
They have been superb... firstly plying me with lots of good coffee, secondly Craig took plenty of time getting the fit correct and finally after more coffee we had a spec that was suitable.
They promised the bike built within 2 days... and delivered for me, have just tried it out and it feels fantastic, thanks.
As I said I am a new member to this forum and have decided to get back into the hobby after many years of being a couch potatoe  I hope to do LEJOG at the back end of 2012 but best made plans an all that who knows.
Anyhow I think I bought wisely, an audax fast tourer that fits.
Look forward to chatting more, thanks
Craig

So, before this all goes southwards, from wiki:
A shill, plant or stooge is a person who helps a person or organization without disclosing that he or she has a close relationship with that person or organization.
I think the reference was pretty much along exactly the same lines I was thinking of when I read the thread given that the thread was posted in the Sportive/Audax section (so no relevance whatsoever) and was the OP's first post. However, welcome one and all, let's not get too shirty. Good to hear of excellent service; it always seems to be the bad experiences that folks want to post about (albeit in the Road Buying Advice section ).0 -
Well said Bobbinogs.
I bought a VN Euros from Fatbirds last year and yes they were brilliant! The OPs words ring true with my experience so perhaps we should try and be bit less cynical?
No idea why he chose to post it in this section though!
