The one thing I'd change about this race is to make the finish line a bit further on, so they do a bit of a lap of the Siena courtyard for a bit more of a spectacle. If they can race horses round there they can race bikes.

Nahhh i love how dicey that last corner is and how they're all still blowing from the climb up into the town. Doesn't get much better IMO. ddraver you're in for a treat!

As much as I love the Piazza del Campo finish, the lead up to it makes it almost impossible to overtake and its only 75m from the last bend to the line. The last km is on a street that is normally just for pedestrians barely 3m -4m wide... IMO this takes from the finish a bit as luck can play a bit part... but i dont know how I'd fix it as the finish line location is now iconic and there is no other viable way into the square.

I wouldn't fix it. It's an inducement for riders to make their moves before that final km.
  • Has Garzelli a puncture? He dropped off that lead group pretty quick.

On ES now with 15 km to go, but why not do what @spokesmen said Twitter and show the last hour on a delay? Would be preferable to missing all the good bits.
  • Canc dropped! Van A going for it.
