I wish to replace my inner chainring on a Specialized Allez Elite, it is a 34t can anyone recommend a suitable alternative that is compatible with my Shimano 9 speed cassette. I want less spin outs so require more teeth.

Less spin outs - Just shift into a bigger gear? Saves you having to spend money on new parts.

    36 or 38t.
Hope this answers the question and not just question your riding style

Just use the outer ring - it already has more teeth........
    Faster than a tent.......

    Good point :)
If you live in a flat area may be worth changing to a 53/39 you can pick one up reasonably cheaply and Compacts are all the rage just now so you should sell it easy.

Depending on your terrain mkwhite, its the cheapest and quickest option to replace the inner as you say.
I use a 40T Stronglite inner. I'm fit and can push along but prefer to spin on the 40 rather than mash along on the 50T.
On the edge of the fens, extending into the rolling Northants countryside, some short steep stabs, the 40 copes quite fine.

If your terrains slightly hilly, i'd go for a 38 or 39 perhaps
