Shimano SIS 7sp rear mech - can I fit Altus Shifters M310?

I have a shimano SIS rear mech and a grip shift shifter - but I've broken the shifter and I would quite like the altus shifters. Can I fit a Shimano Altus Shifter M310 to replace the grip shift?

Is the Altus 7spd? Is the cassette 7spd? Then yes.
