This has already probably been done to death but is it me or is everyone now jumping on the band wagon and saying that 26ers are sh1te coz everyone is raving about 29ers!!

Before 29ers there was absolutely no issues with 26ers but just watched a video saying that 'ooh if you were on a 26 inch wheel you would never have got up that bit of single track'........WTF!!.....surely its down to the skill and strength and power of the rider?

I know that 29ers are real good but surely it doesnt make 26ers instantly redundant!!

Dont shoot me down in flames as I'm only just pointing out that it seems to be the thing now to 'dis' 26ers coz 29ers are in?

Just saying!

Wow, is this nonsense still going on?
I think I can sum up the argument for and against as follows. (clears throat).

It is just like religion. No matter which one you really believe in, some will believe that you are wise and everyone else will want to wipe you off the face of the earth.

Personally though, anything that makes me ride a bike less like a retarded gibbon and more like a legend is a good thing. Alas, I am yet to find such a thing.

We've seen it all before: when alu frames hit the market, the press and public cooed, and now we all have them. When front sus arrived, same again, you couldn't find an article or beardy that wasn't discussing it. Ditto V brake, then discs (and we all have discs, except me, because I am a superior being). Carbon started to do the same, rear sus certainly did, and now it is time for the 29ers. Except this time it won't take off like other things have, or not as much. It will settle down.

And they are for people with small dicks anyway. "I need another 3 inch to make me a man!".

Couldn't agree more at 5' 7" a 29er is far too big for me, I feel i'm more suited to smaller wheels

This is the best use of a 29 inch wheel I have seen to date.

Doesn't this make it the perfect place for this thread?

and the reason is people think size matters, and prefer the feel of a full29" up there bottoms than just a tiny 26" one :P

Riding a 29r will make you a better person. You will be taller, more handsome and people of your prefered sex will be more interested in you, also riding a 29r will end world poverty, solve global warming and put Greeces economy back in the black.

Riding a 26r is evil you will grow warts all over your body, you will have to pay for sex with Wayne Rooneys cast offs, every turn of the crank will throttle a poor kid in Africa, it will rain on you constantly and your money will be used to prop up Greeces economy.

Or is it the other way round I can never remember.

If this is true I presume that Bono and Bob Geldof both ride 29ers. Which means we all should.

well im sold thanks to Bikeradar

The series of videos have been very helpful comparing the 26 and 29 versions of the camber.

the 29er appears to go up and downhill where as far as i can see the 26er is still propped up against a tree in the intro video, frig am i spending £1600 on something that can only be propped up thank god for 29ers
