First Cheap Road Bike

Hi,
I'm looking at buying my first road bike for training for my Downhill racing and to be honest... I don't have a clue what I'm looking for.
It must be £100 tops (preferably less... I know I'm a cheapskate!) I know it will be a right sh*tter for that price but aslong as it works I'm not really bothered... obviously it will be second hand.
Spec, weight, material, colour, brand etc dont bother me in the slightest aslong as it works and its the right size... I'm about 5'8"/5'9" and have an inside leg of about 32"
I don't care what condition it is in cosmetically as I'm probably going to raw the frame and forks.

So does anyone have any advice on any cheap bikes that are still useable? And size wise... what do you think?

And please dont laugh at my cheapness :D

Thanks, Sam

I'm not sure whether to go for an actual road bike or a sort of town bike with a single speed flip flop hub so I can change between fixed gear and freehub.

    But any suggestions welcome :)

You're looking for a lucky find in a charity shop or down the local skip, then.

You could probably get a top notch mountain bike for that money

Ive decided to go for singlespeed with horizontal drop outs and a flip flop hub. And I'm just going to buy it all sperately and build it all up.

But can anyone recommend what frame size to go for please? :)

    Thanks, Sam

52 frame should be about right going on your height and because i'm too lazy and tired right now to convert your inside leg into the proper units :p thats all I can add sorry.
But seriously, 52 would be fine, and i suspect one size up would be fine with flat bars
