Easy to service bikes

I like single speed (not fixies) bike for it low weight & simplicity, but also hated SS for steep hills (42t chainring x 18t rear seem to be the standard), as I wanted the "ability" to go down hill fast like 52t x 18t.
So is there any "easy to service bikes" out there with single speed rear (remove rear derailleur), but with "triple chainring" (and perhaps add a chain tensioner?)??? Because I hate the weight at the rear if using 3x speed hub. Also I hate servicing pad brakes, is there any bike with disc brakes?

For the ultimate in low-maintenance go for a hub gear ( c'mon they're not that heavy! ) and coaster or drum brakes.
Pashley do a few fitting that bill including the Clubman Urban.

Or fit a Sturmey S2C hub to your existing bike if that's do-able.0 -
Go Fixed and learn to ride it. SS is crap in comparison.
Also proper cyclists like fixing/maintaining their bikes.0 -

get a hub gear and lose a kilo of lard off your backside.
Hub gears are great for commuting - the low maintenance of SS but with a choice of gears.Bianchi Infinito CV
