Do you set them up so that the egg shaped tops are angled at all? I'm just in the process of swapping my 44s for 42s and am thinking about optimum position before fitting the shifters again and wondered if a very slight angle down at the front might be ergonomically more comfortable than completely horizontal. Your thoughts, please.

I don't use them, but I would suggest they should be angled so the bottom of the drop (the short, straight section) is parallel with the ground. That would be the correct setup for just about all drop handlebars.

The problem though is that the Ergonova is a compact drop shape. There is no flat bit at the bottom of the drop, just a continuous bend.
Most people with compact shape handlebars install the shifters in a way to ensure a smooth, flat transition from the tops through to the hoods of the shifters.

    Makes sense.

    Thanks guys!

I thought they have a very short straight section? But what you say makes sense, Tony.
