Ok I know very little about wheels on my bike Boardman Pro 2011 other than it has Mavic 313 rims and formuls hubs with quick release through the centre, my question is if I was looking at new wheels ect on say Merlin or Superstar what adapter would I need. Superstar for instance have QR adaptors, 9mm, 10mm rear, 15mm ect ect
I am looking at maybe Stans Crest wheels with black evo stealth hubs but do not know which size hub.

front is 9mm (3/8") Qr and rear is 10mm Qr."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Ok thanks so I would need to buy a 9mm front adaptor and a 10mm rear is that correct.0

no idea. link to what you are looking at.
most hubs come as above as standard.
and 10mm may not be 10mmQr."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

just pick the "quick release" option. the 9mm and 10mm options are for the thru axle qr skewers.Viner Salviati

Why do you want new wheels, and what are you looking at specifically?0
-
@supersonic I do not want them yet I just want to understand that when I do decide to upgrade I have at least an idea I know what I am looking at.0

I guess this is what I am asking: I don't see anything yet as an 'upgrade'.0

200g saved in the rims, 60g saved going to decent spokes, hubs that can easily be swapped to any axle type. Not to mention the potential to stick some yellow tape in and go tubeless if you so desire. Sounds like a decent upgrade here, Superstar seem to be a bit hit and miss with build quality, if you gets some solid ones they should be something that you pass to any new bike you buy.
Superstar do also do a few truing service, can't say much fairer!0 -
I think I might be tempted to spend another £80 and go for these:

Maybe, same weight rear hub, quicker engagement, less axle options. Lighter, more expensive spokes, but much more awkward to replace.
Either way I'd actually go for the cheaper ones given then price difference and axle options.0 -
Actually, I'd get these!

I guess it all comes down to max spend, whether you place grams lost per pound spent as top priority, or the versatility. But I'd least go for the £220 set, rather than say the cheaper Tech sets (which I actually thought he was at first lol)0
